Analysis of Job Functions of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals in Korea

The practice of rehabilitation professionals has been affected by significant changes in rehabilitation counseling practice settings and service delivery systems. The purpose of this study was to identify and examine the major job functions required for rehabilitation counseling practice in today’s rapidly changing practice environment in Korea, and develop Korean-version Rehabilitation Skills Inventory. Results revealed seven job functions (disability awareness improvement, employment support, vocational evaluation, vocational counseling and psychological support, case management, resource utilization) of vocational rehabilitation professionals through the Rehabilitation Skills Inventory. Participants’ ratings of the importance of job functions and implications for practice are also discussed.
